Another week has come and gone but not to fear, the DFSN Weekend Edition is here. With the 12 NBA games that we are presented with this weekend, I believe that I have all of the ammunition that you’ll need to take out your opposition with one head shot. You want to take your opponents out of their game as quickly as possible with these plays, and you’ll be able to do just that. Once again guys, please make sure to check all status before game time. You know what a bunch of hypochondriacs these guys are, don’t forget. Here are your weekend value-plays.
*** Here’s a couple freerolls to use these selections in: DraftKings/DraftDay ***
Kyrie Irving PG Cleveland Cavaliers (Sat) If you’re looking for a starting PG for for line-up this evening that doesn’t cost an arm and a leg, who not only logs mucho minutos on the floor but can produce beast-type digits on any given night, look towards Kyrie. It’s hard to believe at times that this kid is only two years into his NBA career. Kyrie is coming off of his Wednesday night game having played Portland and when all was said and done, Irving walked away having produced ‘Durant-like’ digits. Kyrie scored 31 points (13-24 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 4-4 FT) along with 3 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals while logging in 39 minutes in that 93-88 win over the Blazers. Kyrie will face the Jazz tonight and if it makes you feel any better, Irving has been solid the few times that he’s played them. In Kyrie’s most recent meetings with Utah saw him average 21 points, 4.5 assists and 2 boards. Look for a much more productive game here as Irving’s averages (all the way around) have risen since those last two meetings and the guy is on a serious roll offensively lately. Projection: 26 pts / 5 ast / 3 reb / 3 stl
Jameer Nelson PG Orlando Magic (Sun): 34 Fantasy Points
Arron Afflalo SG Orlando Magic (Sun) Arron has been quietly providing decent daily fantasy numbers as of late and we’ll look for that trend to continue into this game. Other than that debacle a couple games ago versus the Wizards (chalking it up to an off-shooting night, he’s earned the right to be entitled to at least one) Afflalo has been very steady on both sides of the court. He’ll do so tonight as well. He’s been averaging 27.5 fantasy points over his last 5 starts (and that’s including the Wizard game) and I look for him to take his game to the house tonight and it’s this writers opinion that Arron could come close to putting up the same type of numbers he did a few nights ago when he took on the Clippers. Look for a above-average night from Arron and make sure you start him due to the fact that his price tag has yet to catch up with his value. Projection: 26 pts / 5 ast / 4 reb / 1 stl
Bradley Beal SG Washington Wizards (Sat): 33 Fantasy Points
Andrei Kirilenko SF Minnesota Timberwolves (Sat) Kirilenko has been feeling a little under the weather lately and his stats suffered for it, along with our lineups. That was then, this is now. Andrei is back and will come into this game knowing a little something about this Rocket team. AK-47 will face the Rockets who are not exactly at the top of the list at defending the SF position and I’m sure that he’s aware of this. Kirilenko will take advantage of this golden opportunity and we should as well. Andrei has been performing at a decent level but with the inujuries to Alexey Shved and Nikola Pekovic, Andrei will have no choice but to elevate his game and production this evening and I’m very confident that he will. His price is still steady and has even dropped a bit due to his illness, so jump on this price now, start Andrei and watch he dividends roll in. Projection: 18 pts / 4 ast / 9 reb / 1 blk / 3 stl
Rudy Gay SF Memphis Grizzlies (Sun): 30 Fantasy Points
Tristan Thompson PF Cleveland Cavaliers (Sat) T.T. has been stroking it and has literally become a double-double machine as this second year forward is just blowing his opponents away. Thompson is coming off yet another terrific game and, yup, another double-double. Tristan had 19 points (7-15 FG, 5-10 FT) along with 14 rebounds and two steals on Wednesday in a win against Portland. Tristan has improved his average from the charity line but more so than that T.T. is becoming diverse in all of the stat departments. Thompson is not what you would call one dimensional and I’m very sure in the fact of knowing that the Jazz will find that out tonight and won’t be able to do anything to stop it. Tristan will once again attempt to secure another double-double here, he’ll get it, easily too. Projection: 18 pts / 4 ast / 15 reb / 2 stl
Serge Ibaka PF Oklahoma City Thunder (Sun): 31 Fantasy Points
Greg Monroe C Detroit Pistons (Sun) Reader, I’d like to introduce you to your starting center for your line-ups tonight. His name? Greg “The Celtic Killer” Monroe. Not over thinking this one here boys and girls. There is no other player starting at the center position on Sunday that you want more that Monroe. His numbers against Boston are known world-wide (well, maybe just in the fantasy world but you get my point) as he has crushed them in the past and I don’t see that changing by this Sunday. Greg has averaged 20 points, 3 assists, 13 rebounds and 2 steals while logging in 32 minutes. That’s 40 fantasy points!! All things remain the same here as there is absolutely no one on this Boston team who has the answer on how to stop “The Celtic Killer”. Projection: 24 pts / 3 ast / 15 reb / 2 stl
J.J. Hickson C Portland Trail Blazers (Sat): 34 Fantasy Points
